This is the second part of the Introspect article on Perspective on this Crisis. If you have read the first one, I urge you to read that too.
This crisis has brought us all to a flat line in our mortality and humanity. Still, no one is medically immune to COVID 19 after a couple of months from the onset of this infection. We all stand on the same space and time.
With this threat, everyone is tuning in to know what is the latest story from the news media, social media, and gossips around us. Information nowadays can go viral with social media platforms, regardless if the details are verified or not.
This is the danger specially when everyone is a ticking timed bomb due to panic and paranoia. When the false information goes viral, mass hysteria is just a surface of what can happen next.
Last June 2020, I was meditating while traveling to meet a client and an inner witness came to mind. The Philippines is entering its phase in history when confusion is so strong that a national union will rise against the government on the baseline of injustice.
This will be a crucial time even for the Body of Christ to know how to hear and feel from the mind and heart of God. I shared this with a few friends. And I have been watching and praying how we will thrive over the strong wind of confusion!
August came, I am reminded with this inner witness. National and local policies are coming out here and there. The ideologies behind the policies are dancing chacha (urong-sulong). I sensed what the witness was speaking about and it is vividly happening.
We are even seeing some news media confused about presenting facts and details. As a result, people confuse themselves with facts versus opinions.
I can hear WISDOM is calling these days.
We need to read and discern what we read. We need to listen and discern what we listen. Things are not what they seem to be. Learn to hear what wisdom has to say on what you are reading or listening to.
Pray. Read the Bible. Listen to the news. And live your daily life. Do these things with discernment. Do all these with wisdom by your side.
Do not fall into the trap of becoming the mouth of the evil one. Do not be the voice of death and hopelessness. Do not be the embodiment of greed and envy. Do not be a conduit of paranoia.
Do not parade with the confused and spare yourself from becoming the casualties when the massive exposure happens. Expect many exposures to happen as the days go by.
The exposure will not stop at the hidden misinformation of a giant network recently closed as the renewal of the franchise was not approved. The exposure will not stop at the PhilHealth case. The exposure will not stop at the organized scamdemic, making the misery and death of many as a business.
Know whose voice is talking to you. Is it fear? Is it anxiety? Is it misinformation? Is it greed? Is it poverty? Or is it hope? Is it faith? Is it love? Can you hear God amid confusing voices?
This is the time when wisdom, knowledge, and understanding are as gold for they will keep us sane, alive, and thriving. I urge you to read Proverbs 2 and discover the value of wisdom in the days of information warfare. Stay tuned for the next Introspect Article!
PROVERBS 2 (NKJV)
My son, if you receive my words,
And treasure my commands within you,
2 So that you incline your ear to wisdom,
And apply your heart to understanding;
3 Yes, if you cry out for discernment,
And lift up your voice for understanding,
4 If you seek her as silver,
And search for her as for hidden treasures;
5 Then you will understand the fear of the Lord,
And find the knowledge of God.
6 For the Lord gives wisdom;
From His mouth come knowledge and understanding;
7 He stores up sound wisdom for the upright;
He is a shield to those who walk uprightly;
8 He guards the paths of justice,
And preserves the way of His saints.
9 Then you will understand righteousness and justice,
Equity and every good path.
10 When wisdom enters your heart,
And knowledge is pleasant to your soul,
11 Discretion will preserve you;
Understanding will keep you,
12 To deliver you from the way of evil,
From the man who speaks perverse things,
13 From those who leave the paths of uprightness
To walk in the ways of darkness;
14 Who rejoice in doing evil,
And delight in the perversity of the wicked;
15 Whose ways are crooked,
And who are devious in their paths;
16 To deliver you from the immoral woman,
From the seductress who flatters with her words,
17 Who forsakes the companion of her youth,
And forgets the covenant of her God.
18 For her house [a]leads down to death,
And her paths to the dead;
19 None who go to her return,
Nor do they [b]regain the paths of life—
20 So you may walk in the way of goodness,
And keep to the paths of righteousness.
21 For the upright will dwell in the land,
And the blameless will remain in it;
22 But the wicked will be [c]cut off from the [d]earth,
And the unfaithful will be uprooted from it.
